The Internet is full of information. You can seek absolutely anything on the Net and it will throw back at you a great deal of information; many times this will be much, much more than you can read, let alone absorb. Some days back I had received an invitation from a friend for a baby shower. Since I have heard so much about the diaper cake, I tried to get one done myself, and because the friend who called me was very close to me, I wanted it to be a great one.

As soon as I decided to make a diaper cake, I went to work to find out how I can make one; first of all I went to the book store and bought three books which promised easy and step-by-step diaper cake directions for baby showers.
It was indeed very easy from what it looked in the books. However, when I sat down to do it, nothing worked out the way the books said it would. The diapers did not stay together rolled tight. The lower tiers failed to support the higher two tiers and the diaper cake kept crumbling inside. Everytime some nice thing was hung on the diaper, another one would fall off, and so on.
After I tried and tried and tried for about six hours, I felt it is better to give up the idea of making one. Just then, my 12 year old daughter came is and asked me what I was struggling with. Then she volunteered to help with some research on the Net on finding some simple diaper cake directions for baby showers. In a matter of 15 minutes she came back to me with 50 pages printouts with pictures and a great variety of diaper cake directions for baby showers.
I tried again. This time maybe because of the six hours I had spent before, and/or the quality of the diaper cake directions for baby showers I found that my hands had got a greater dexterity and I could assemble the lower tier with great ease. The upper tiers too were not too difficult. However, putting it together still remained a problem.
I tried with a bit of card board it did not work; I put in hard wire, it did not work, I tried to roll in hard to keep it hard, it still did not work. As a last resort, I put in a few paper towels to give some strength - and it worked. Once this problem was solved, the cake was put together in no time, and I had made a great gift just as I wanted.
